I'm tempted to turn on that machine again and see how it behaves with a modern distro. In fact it's my primary desktop at work, and while drawing is quite slow, I'm stuck with it as the motherboard doesn't have AGP or a 16X PCI-e slot (btw. the distro is RHEL-based SLC 4). Maybe I should plug in a PCI radeon though. At least a laptop running current rawhide on i965 provides a much better experience.
